Warm red LED tubing, every stroke visibly built from individual diodes. Blackletter bones — broken strokes, angular spurs — loosened by script swashes, with the 8 drawn to double as the opening E.

White face-lit channel letters, one storey up. Heavy slab serifs with bracketed terminals, a Clarendon cut sized to be read across four lanes of traffic rather than from the pavement.

Metal letters face-lit warm against a weathered painted panel. High-contrast Didone capitals with hairline serifs and vertical stress — a fashion-magazine face put outdoors and left to age with the wall.

A printed panel inside an internally lit box, bulbs visible through the face. Plain geometric sans, lowercase i breaking the caps, an orange chevron standing in for the K. Studio work, not signwriting.

Dark letters halo-lit against pale teal, so the wordmark reads as silhouette rather than light. Condensed and angular, strokes broken at the joints, bowls squared — blackletter posture without blackletter weight.

Mame-chan

Bent glass tube in green — the first true neon in the archive, everything before it diode-built. Monoline handwritten letters with rounded terminals and a slight bounce off the baseline, repeated on the printed panel beside it.

Found on a family beach trip to Mũi Né. I framed both faces of the corner instead of moving in on the lettering — here the green is as much the mark as the letters are.

Halo-lit white on black, one continuous connected script at a single stroke weight. Descenders on the y and p loop back under the word, and the final a runs out into a swash that carries past the panel edge.
